Eikon ("the app") converts, compresses, resizes and removes metadata from image files, and makes animations from videos and photos, on iPhone and iPad. All processing happens on your device. We operate no server, run no analytics, show no advertising and embed no tracking SDKs.
Images and videos reach the app in three ways: through the system photo picker, through the Files picker, or through the share sheet. In every case the app receives only the images or the video you choose and never has access to your photo library as a whole. A video is read only to extract the frames of the animation you ask for. Processing produces new files; the originals are not modified or deleted.
Results are saved only where you send them: to Photos, which asks for permission to add images the first time; to the Eikon folder, which lives inside the app and is visible in the Files app; to a folder you pick; or to another app through the share sheet. The app does not read the Photos library and does not browse folders on its own.
The app stores the following locally, in a container it shares only with its own share extension:
| Item | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Your last operation and its settings | So the app and the share sheet open the way you left them |
| Temporary copies of the images or video being processed and of the results, deleted when you finish or when the system reclaims space | Processing and handing results to Photos, Files or the share sheet |
| Images you saved to the Eikon folder | Your own files, under your control in the Files app |
These are removed when you uninstall the app.
Eikon Pro is a one-time purchase made through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment and the receipt; the app only checks with Apple's StoreKit framework whether the purchase exists. We receive no name, email, payment details or any other personal data. Apple's handling of purchases is described in Apple's privacy policy.
The app asks to add images to your photo library only when you choose to save there. It does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone or the photo library beyond the images you pick. Location data is read from image files only to remove it when you ask.
Eikon does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If the app's data practices change, we'll update this page and the date above.
